This was the right visual direction for this genre-defining compilation, which was finally agreed upon after much debate. The superimposition of minimalist geometric digital typography on an every day street scene in Johannesburg gives this release an under stated and humble yet serious and important, classic and timeless yet contemporary and hypermodern look. The songs may represent the future of all electronic dance music, but its origins in the mundane lives of average South Africans must not be forgotten.
The South African musicians at first did not feel this art direction on a product for the European market, preferring more slick and bling-y ideas and treatments, but changed their minds half way through the creative process, and in the end were very happy with the result when holding it in their hands.
