The album of heavy and intricate hybrids between Afro-Brazillian drumming and electronic club music imagines future renegades living deep in the jungles of the Amazon, continuing the fiercely independent ethos of their ancestors of run-away-slaves in the quilombos of the past and present. Bass music heard through the polyrhythmic labyrinths of traditional African percussion as it evolved in Brasil from complex histories of oppression and revolt which continues to this day, as burning buses rip through the jungle, neoliberal social unrest unfolding in front of a backdrop of slave boats.
